| Wow, life has passed me by since I last wrote! I've had a steady job for the past four months, and I now have almost $1,000 in my bank account. I still have the same girlfriend, and we've been dating for over a year now (which is like fifty years for high school relationships). School is going well, I joined school choir in January, and I am SO glad I did. Here is my second semester schedule: 1. AP American Government 2. American Literature 3. Trigonometry 4. TAG/Homeroom/Travel Time/whatever/???/I don't know what to call it. 5. French I 6. Word Study 7. Advanced Choir 8. Psychology Trust me, I will blog within the next few days. And just to show how long it's been since I've blogged, here is my pre-registration for my SENIOR YEAR! (In no particular order): 1. Journalism I 2. French II 3. Calculus 4. 4th hour doesn't count/same weird stuff 5. English IV 6. Chemistry I 7. Concert Choir (basically the new name for Advanced Choir) 8. College Algebra It's kind of surprising that I'm a second semester junior and I haven't taken the ACT yet. Well, I just registered, and I'll be taking it on April 14. Life is alright, I've had some run-ins with my parents, but who hasn't? Oh, I got a cell phone for Christmas, as well as an mp3 player, so that is pretty cool. Talk to you later! | | |
| Wow, am I a major slacker! Two months without updating! So, I cannot begin to describe the last couple of months. My job situation has finally straightened out (as of the last two or three weeks, no kidding). So I ended up getting hired at Sonic, but that just wasn't cutting it. First off, they promised me that it would have been $6 an hour, but they only paid me for $5.50 an hour. $5.50 would have been fine with me if they had just said so. And then they weren't giving me enough hours. It's about 10-15 minutes away from home, so it ended up costing more to drive there than I was making! So about three weeks ago I ended up getting hired from Mailbox IT and quitting at Sonic, all of a sudden within the course of one day (November 6). And then I started work at Mailbox IT on the 9th, and I love it! The guy I work with is kind of strange, but....it's $6.75 an hour to start, with a raise on the way. And then I work from 3:30-7:00 each night Monday thru Friday, so the hours are set. And they say I'll never have to work Saturdays. And of course I'll never have to work Sundays, since it's a postal place. That means that I always have free weekends as far as work and school goes. So I am very busy but I am happy, either in spite of that fact or maybe because of it. My Thanksgiving was great, and I got to see a lot of family. But it wasn't quite enough, and I can't wait until Christmas! Oh, and I've been able to sporadically buy some new CDs. It's kind of sickening in a way when you think about it, but I now have over 200 CDs! Yikes! I must love music or something.... | | |
| So....I'm getting a job pretty soon, I know I keep saying that, but this time....it's for real. Because I have two or three interviews coming up soon. Plus, I have been doing a job on the side that will pay me $60.00 every three weeks. It is up to you to try to guess what that job on the side might be..... I'm going to a concert on Wednesday, I am pretty certain. And then Friday night is homecoming, and I don't know yet if I have a date..... Just kidding, I have a girlfriend of seven months who just might come with me....In fact, she is with us over my shoulder as we speak....or type. Today was the first Sunday in our new church facility, and it was absolutely mah-velous! We had an all-time record attendace of 500+. Me gusta! I'll talk to all of you later when I feel like it. | | |
| Well, I just got the job at McDonald's! And by "just", I mean as in 45 minutes ago. I went and interviewed immediately after school. I could tell the manager was pretty positive while interviewing me and seemed pretty satisfied with my answers. Cool! So orientation should be about mid-week next week, so maybe I'll start for real in about a week. But I still think this is cool. And the starting pay is $6.00 an hour. That sounds like a lot to someone who's never had a job, especially when I consider that it's considerably higher than minimum wage, which is $5.15 (for now). And tonight I get to go out with some friends and see a movie (after my parents HOPEFULLY approve). And then, I get to sleep in tomorrow. Woo-hoo! | | |
| So tonight I went crazy and applied at about 8 places (in addition to the four places where I'd already applied). The last place I went to (figures), McDonald's in Republic, told me that I could turn the application in on Friday, have a quick interview, and start on Monday. That sounds pretty solid, and I'm very excited. I don't care that it's McDonald's, and very easy to get in to, I'm still proud of it, because it means that I can actually earn money and drive and have a life. One of my best friends, Dani, works there, and my girlfriend Liz might turn in an application there soon as well. Wouldn't that be nifty?.....The answer is yes. And plus, school is still going well and I'm making new friends every day as well as getting closer to the ones I've had for a while. Things are pretty good right now, overall. I am a happy camper! | | |
